Local Benefits
-
Delivering jobs
Constructing Sequence Park will create approximately 1,000 jobs and once operational will bring 190 permanent jobs to the local area
-
Planting a new greenspace
Sequence Park will open up 3.5 hectares of currently inaccessible land for local people to use and enjoy. This will provide the community with over 750 metres of new accessible paths, wildflower grasslands, and improved access to nature
-
Conserving biodiversity
Sequence Park will ensure conservation of the site’s valued habitats (such as its waterways, scrub and mature trees) and reinforce these with new habitat creation (such as new wet woodland, tree planting, wetland scrapes, species rich grassland and native hedgerow)
-
Increasing accessibility
New vehicular access from Slough Road will be created away from residential properties with clear visibility, the existing public footpath along the Colne Brook’s northern bank will be retained and upgraded to improve accessibility, and 750 metres of new permissive paths will be established through the publicly accessible greenspace
-
Minimising land disruption
The Sequence Park Data Centre is directly beside the power source so the connecting cables will be out of sight leaving the community and surrounding land undisturbed
-
Creating a digital innovation cluster
The Data Centre will cement the local area as a digital innovation cluster attracting and retaining investment and high skilled jobs to the area
-
Striving for sustainability
Sequence Park will be designed to the highest sustainability standards and will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources
-
Achieving seamless design
The Data Centre will be set into the ground and constructed with visually appealing sustainable materials allowing it to blend subtly with the landscape
National & Regional Benefits
-
Boosting the UK economy
Sequence Park will generate an estimated £1 billion in Gross Value Added (GVA) for the UK economy and create a digital innovation cluster in the local area
-
Driving AI innovation
The Sequence Park Data Centre will drive ground breaking innovation that uses AI and machine learning
-
Increasing productivity
Technologies enabled by the Sequence Park Data Centre will fuel the AI-powered productivity revolution
-
Relieving grid pressure
While Data Centres have high energy demands, their processing power is vital for enabling the smart grid that improves efficiency, reliability, and reduces waste
-
Supporting net zero
Data Centres are the engines for cutting-edge AI-led research that can fuel breakthroughs in the most pressing challenges of our time including climate change
“Data Centres are the engines of modern life, they power the digital economy and keep our most personal information safe”
